Chrystal Bethell's narration of this island romance is sassy, high pitched, and slightly accented. While the accent she uses does not precisely match the Trinidadian setting of the story, it's easy to overlook this detail. In the past, Cherisse, a pastry chef, has clashed with Keiran King, a well-known DJ from her childhood. Now, neither of them is happy when they find themselves participants in a destination wedding. They're thrown together all weekend. Bethell delivers sarcasm, a bit of cussing, and, as things heat up, the masking of feelings. The bickering between the two characters plays out pretty well--although it becomes tiresome at times. Nonetheless, this audiobook makes for a fun and slightly steamy summer listen.
