This quirky book summarizes the author's conversations with all but one (Ronald Reagan) of the five ex-presidents between Richard Nixon and George H. W. Bush. Filled with anecdotes that make these men more human, such as their favorite days in the White House and whether they allowed their friends to call them by their first names, it's a short book that will leave you hungry for more. Narrator Jonathan Marosz is an excellent choice for this work. His steady, assuring baritone gives the book a dignity worthy of former statesmen, and his diction and pacing make this easy to follow. Marosz can be monotonous at times, but the overall effect is dignified and informative. R.I.G. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/MAY 05]
