ENCHANTED TALES

Part of a series, this four-cassette collection presents celebrity actors reading four classic fairy tales. Delightful music contributes to the settings and moods of these four fairy tales. Two of the performances stand out among the narrations, which collectively are uneven. Julie Harris shares "The Nightingale" in a dramatic performance full of warmth and intimacy. Michael York's articulate narration and careful pacing give prominence to word play in "The Hunting of the Snark" However, Jason Robards gives a capable, but unimaginative, rendering of "The Elfin Grove," and Katharine Hepburn's "The Bremen Town Musicians" is limited by difficulty in enunciation.
