I'LL BE SEEING YOU

by | Read by Kate Skinner

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1993

TV newswoman Meghan Collins's father disappears after a bridge disaster in Upstate New York. His body is not found. Did he die, or has he run away from his life? At the morgue Meghan discovers that she looks exactly like a murder victim. On assignment at a fertility clinic, she uncovers some unsavory goings-on, which put her in mortal danger. Kate Skinner's reading rarely keeps pace with Clark's high-energy action sequences. There's too much distance between narrator and text, and Skinner comes off as coolly matter-of-fact, almost indifferent to the elements unfolding in the story. Written in 1993, the novel's technology sounds dated and the ending too pat. However, Mary Higgins Clark's mystery plots are always engaging, and this one is no exception.
