Rupert Bush is the perfect narrator for this story of intrigue. Posing as a journalist, British spy Richard Prince is sent on a mission to uncover evidence that Turkey is supplying chromium, needed for weapons manufacture, to the Nazis. Bush uses strong characterizations to give life to upper-class spymasters, chilling Gestapo agents, and worldly-wise ship captains. He creates a likable and believable protagonist in Prince and particularly shines in delivering the character’s inner conflict between his duty and his heart. Overall, Bush’s well-paced narration helps build the tension in this spy story as its various plot twists unfold. K.J.P. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2021]
