Never would Claude have thought that his quiet vacation on a Scottish island would turn him into an international fugitive. When he finds a pile of mannequins on the beach, he discovers a priceless sculpture hidden inside one. Eventually, he decides to return it to the museum that owns it. Richard Kidd winningly creates great characters, unusual settings, and hair-raising experiences. Narrator Stephen Perring is super at portraying a melodious Scottish accent, including the retelling of a folktale, and the accents of Italian thugs who are trying to get back their booty. Young listeners will also learn about foreign locales, fishing, and how Claude copes with the death of his mother and an elderly friend.
