A TWIST IN TIME

Ure has created an unusually clever approach to the idea of a warp in time. When Cosy must go to a foster home until her mother is well again, she is distraught. She's unable to study properly and fears she will lose her high school scholarship. One night, through her tears, she imagines that she sees a young girl from an earlier time studying at her desk. Narrator Kim Hicks beautifully introduces Cosy and her temporary family, along with those from her past. The story is completely believable and moving as Cosy and her ghost friend ACTUALLY meet as the story closes. A winning choice for children coping with a mentally ill parent.
