YES PRIME MINISTER Volumes 1 & 2

"Yes Prime Minister" is one of the most smartly written satires ever on television. The BBC sitcom (eight 30-minute episodes) translates well to audio because it is so dialogue driven; only the occasional roar of laughter from the live audience will make the listener wonder what facial expression was missed. The comedy focuses on the new prime minister of Britain, the well-meaning but vote-seeking Jim Hacker; his personal secretary, Bernard; and the manipulating civil servant, Sir Humphrey (played by Nigel Hawthorne). The humor is wicked and clever, skewering the machinations of the political system and the motivations of all involved.
