THE RUNES OF THE EARTH

The last book of Donaldson’s Chronicles of Thomas Covenant was published in 1983. Now the Runes of the Earth is the first of a promised new quartet, The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, to conclude the series. Newcomers to the series may find it a bit daunting being dropped into events that pick up ten years after those recounted in the last book. The introductory background helps. Scott Brick plunges in with his typical style of rich narration. He is as fully engaged in the long narrative passages as in the dialogue and action sequences.
