Rebecca Caton delivers a raw performance of this romance novel. As a teenager, Jack lives a pleasant life with her family in Maine until she's disowned by her strict parents after being caught in a romantic tryst with Jared, an old family friend. She is sent to an authoritarian halfway house, which she eventually runs from and starts a spectacularly successful new life as a model. The first half of Caton's performance charmingly depicts a picture-perfect romance until its twist. Listeners will be rewarded as Caton skillfully portrays Jack as a bright-eyed girl who matures into a determined young woman--whom Jared finds he can't forget.
