In this well-produced collection, Andrew Sachs skillfully portrays a new group of Jeffrey Archer's colorful characters. Although the stories are uneven in plot interest, each is peppered with humor and insight sharply conveyed by Sachs's great timing and emphasis. One delightful story, "The Endgame," combines vintage Archer themes (a clever test of character and a fitting comeuppance for those who fail it) with sharply defined characters played perfectly by the reader.
