In this collection of connected essays on how humanity is confronting climate change, journalist Arno Kopecky is overtly political--but in a nonconfrontational (and very Canadian) way that is unlikely to alienate anyone but deniers on the far right. Most of the time, he's more funny than strident. Marvin Kaye's narration doesn't have that same feel: It's more dramatic and occasionally slips into grandstanding, as though he were pleading with listeners to heed a dire warning. But the audiobook's overall tone is still one of thoughtfulness, with a balance of resignation and optimism that will appeal to those struggling to find a way forward in a world that is simultaneously thriving and hurtling toward a crisis.
