HUNTERS OF THE LOST CITY

Narrator Sophie Amoss's intimate intensity grabs listeners from the get-go and holds them throughout this story. Residents of Vittoria have been told they are the only survivors of a plague caused by a sorceress in order to keep them inside city walls. One day, while hunting, Octavia meets Sima, a girl who was separated from her family while seeking a healer. Octavia vows to help Sima find her family and discover what is true about the circumstances of Vittoria. Fear and suspicion are subtly woven into Amoss's voice as Octavia battles the monster Ferox, crosses the Valley of the Ghosts, escapes from Aeterna, and returns to warn Vittoria of imminent danger.
