THE TEMPLE OF MUSIC

by | Read by Stephen Hoye

Historical Fiction • 14 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Though Jonathan Lowy is an attorney, his second work eschews the courtroom in favor of a compelling historical novel focusing on the Gilded Age, in particular immigrant factory worker Leon Czolgosz, who assassinated President McKinley. Lowy is a talented writer whose research and love of history are evident. Here he tells a compelling story, although the book shifts frequently in time, making it a bit difficult at times for the listener to place all of the events in context. Stephen Hoye has an engaging style that allows characters to display their unique personalities. His performance is particularly effective in a book with a dynamic cast of characters drawn directly from the pages of history. D.J.S. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE/JULY 05]
