Any good satire of the corporate world must be brimming with buzz words and twisted politics, and CITIZEN GIRL makes some sharp jabs at both. The beleaguered “girl” is fresh out of school and overwhelmed with the confusing job market that awaits her. Katherine Kellgren offers an appropriate performance of a variety of characters, although some of the more colorful ones border on caricatures of the world’s worst bosses and co-workers. However, Kellgren’s narration is enthusiastic, and the story vibrates with her energy. Listeners can expect plenty of drama and detail in this audiobook. The authors specialize in making a story come alive, and the Kellgren captures that action with her delivery. L.B.F. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: AUG/ SEP 06]
