The voice of Roscoe Born is so deep (perhaps too deep) and so ostensibly Texan that one could easily believe that he had been pulled from a west Texas ranch to read this book. Born, though, is no unprofessional reader. He reads with clarity and an even pace, and he never stumbles. The audiobook briefly describes the life of President George H.W. Bush before turning to his first son. The information about the younger Bush focuses, as one would expect, on his character and political development. This biography is favorable without being hagiographic. M.L.C. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 00]
