In the initial installment in the Firstborn series, naïve Katy Hart answers a casting call for the female lead in movie star Dayne Matthews's new movie. She's uneasy about Hollywood and whether acting is God's will, but she pushes those thoughts aside to follow her dream. Sandra Burr depicts all the complexities of stardom that plague Dwane's life. Katy is contrasted as an innocent from the Midwest. Their mutual attraction is portrayed with sizzling heat and charm. Burr also excels in performing two minor characters, a schizophrenic who hears voices and a domineering stage mother.
