THE MAGICIANS' GUILD The Black Magician Trilogy: Book One

by | Read by Richard Aspel

Fantasy • 15.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Sonea has just discovered that she can work magic, but she has also accidentally injured one of the Magicians--the enforcers of the city Imardin. With the help of her friends and the assistance of the Thieves' Guild, she will escape what she considers a fate worse than death--being inducted into the Magicians' Guild. Richard Aspel reads in a light and crisp Australian accent, with rolling vowels and deliberate pauses at the end of many of his sentences. His vocal characterizations prove admirable as he smoothly transitions from the young Sonea to a range of colorful characters. The final track includes "Lord Danil's Guide to Slum Slang," which proves unnecessary by the story's end and would be more beneficial as a printed booklet.
