THE FLOOD AND OTHER LAKOTA STORIES

Kevin Locke, a Lakota of the Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota, tells a creation myth (“The Flood”), a trickster tale (“Iktomi and Iya the Devourer”), and four other stories, interpreting each with a rich voice and style of delivery. He draws listeners into the story and holds their attention until the final word has been spoken. Interludes of traditional Native American flute music performed by Locke, and a song and brief passage of the spoken Lakota language contribute to the tone and authenticity of this superb audio production.
