THE BURNING BLUE

Joss Lambert, an injured RAF fighter hospitalized in Egypt, sees something familiar in the visage of a fellow patient. This sparks his memories of England and his friendship with Guy Liddell. The friendship made him a part of the Liddell family but was threatened by the war and Joss's growing love for Guy's sister, Stella. Glen McCready keeps the characters rounded and likable as he fills their voices with upper-crust angst and keeps the romantic melodrama engaging. At the end, author James Holland shares his research, telling listeners which parts of the story are historically accurate and which reflect creative license.
