FOLLOW THE STARS HOME

A well-produced abridgment recounts an affair between Diane Robbins and two brothers, one of whom left Diane at the thought of becoming a father to a less than perfect daughter and the other a pediatrician who took care of that daughter. Susie Breck narrates with an intense energy that begs the listener to understand the story. What she does is lend her believing attitude to an ordinary novel. She raises the characters from their cardboard environment, turning them into real people and embracing them with the sympathy and warmth that are lacking in the story itself.
