NIGHT VISIT

Reuben Carnforth is dying. When Dr. Harriet Lamont makes a final home visit, Reuben begs for her help, his dying wish, in solving a cold case, the mystery of the disappearance of his granddaughter, Melanie, a decade earlier. Despite her usual dulcet delivery, Juanita McMahon provides a repugnant voice for the creepy Pritchard, who lives with his mother in a tin hut in the middle of the forest, who was a suspect in Melanie’s disappearance, and who insists on night visits by Dr. Lamont for his mother. As Harriet moves toward the resolution of Melanie’s disappearance and several related murders, McMahon commands the pace with expertise.
