Kale Williams's sleek narration proves to be the perfect complement to this mystery. Detective Everett Larkin of New York City's Cold Case Squad is called in to investigate when the gruesome discovery of a body in the subway displays similarities to an unsolved murder that took place in 1997. Along with Ira Doyle of the Forensic Artist Unit, he pieces together clues to the perpetrator while carefully navigating their budding romance. Williams's characterizations and timing are top-notch. He perfectly embodies Larkin, highlighting the detective's vulnerabilities and inner demons to create a believably challenged and socially awkward man.
