Narrator Kurt Kanazawa is appealing and believable as Clark, a teenager trapped in a time loop and reliving the same 16 hours over and over again. After more than 300 days, Clark is struggling--and then, on day 310, he meets Beau, who disrupts Clark's math class and changes everything. Throughout the story, Kanazawa convincingly conveys Clark's loneliness and his attempts to relieve it with the help of his therapist's advice: Make a new friend, help someone, be vulnerable. Kanazawa ups the sense of urgency as Clark tries to connect with Beau again--and to find a way to escape from the time loop. The novel is billed as a romance, but ultimately it's Clark's personal journey that is most credible and compelling. J.M.D. © AudioFile 2023, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2023]
