Arrowville used to be a community in which argument and disagreement were the norm. The mayor's daughter, Barb, is alone in her inability to follow her father's edict to be disagreeable. In despair, she leaves town. Change arrives with the Target family, and with them a farfetched chain of events that results in a new harmony. L.J. Ganser narrates the confrontation between the Arrows and the Targets with much melodrama and champions Barb as the one to bring purpose out of confusion. His steady pacing and accented rhyme heighten the anticipation at each twist in the plot. The story is reminiscent of the 1971 film THE POINT by Harry Nilsson.
