Lew Fonesca is a widower whose wife was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Now he helps other people solve their problems, so that he can keep his own at bay. Scott Brick reads Lew's depressive thoughts and words with tenderness and clarity. He patently understands the physiological undertones as Lew helps find the driver of another hit-and-run. Emotions that have been tamped down rise to the surface and engage the listener on a new and poignant level. There are a great many asides to enjoy, including a pet 'gator at an old age home and trips to the DQ for comfort food.
