BLOOD OF ANGELS

Fiona Towns, an anti-death penalty activist, comes forth as an alibi for Moses Bol, a Sudanese refugee accused of murdering a white woman. Nonetheless, Thomas Dennehy, the county prosecutor, gets Bol convicted of the crime. Simultaneously, Dennehy's earlier conviction of David Bridges for murder is resurrected as Bridges is released and involves himself in Towns's church and in harassing Dennehy. Michael Tucker narrates flawlessly as he follows a plot that twists and turns as Arvin tangles the truth into a knot. Tucker's steady cadence keeps Dennehy on a level emotional keel while he flirts with Towns and fights for his career in the courtroom and the streets.
