Christine Lakin and Will Collyer are an effective team as they narrate this mystery. Investigative journalist Abbie Adams is attempting to solve a cold case murder from 1969. The assignment is especially difficult because the clues lead to her college faculty advisor, Frank Wexler, who tanked her thesis and has tormented her ever since. While Collyer's delivery sounds a bit shrill, Lakin is spot-on with every character. Her memorable voices and nuances turn her performance into a delightful tour de force. In particular, listeners will savor the scenes in which Adams rids herself of her demons and confronts Wexler, whose impact on her pales compared to his impact on others--including the murder victim.
