FOUNDATION'S EDGE

by | Read by David Dukes

Science Fiction • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1982

Fans of Asimov’s Foundation series will no doubt enjoy this search for the “mythical” planet Earth following the war between the First and Second Foundations. Listeners unfamiliar with the preceding books may find this abridgment unsatisfactory despite David Dukes’s lively narration. Dukes, well-known for his role on the TV series Sisters, reads the narrative passages crisply and gives a wide range of vocal characterizations to the dialogue. The transitional narration is often underscored with appropriate, mood-enhancing music. While the pace of the story could be more compelling, this is a good addition to the rest of the series.
