Reilly's fast-paced futuristic fiction features Jason Chaser, a poor student who makes it into an international race school on guts and great driving. But the story slams to a halt when Sean Mangan proceeds to read columns of stats in the midst of the races. Morgan's recitation completely stops the pace of the action--high-speed races through some of the world's most amazing countryside and cityscapes from Tasmania to New York City. Elsewhere, Mangan makes the most of the rivalries, vicious saboteurs, and good guys/gals who race to glory in this consolidation of Reilly's three illustrated stories: CRASH COURSE, FULL THROTTLE, and PHOTO FINISH. In a concluding interview, Reilly talks about the story's original free release via the Internet and mentions maps and illustrations unavailable to the listener.
