This short book strips away some of the ambiguity surrounding a dozen mysteries of the Christian faith. The frequent references to 21st-century cultural phenomena and laundry lists of topical curiosities (which could be skimmed while reading the book but must be endured in the audiobook) make this an unlikely candidate for becoming a timeless work, but it will resonate with modern readers who might need more concrete examples of the obstacles of faith. Paul Smith's reading style borders on the imperative, giving the impression of an explorer who has returned and is reporting his findings, rather than the joint experiences of a fellow traveler.
