DON'T GET TOO COMFORTABLE

Like David Sedaris, David Rakoff easily slips into the persona of the urbane, witty gay raconteur. He performs his collection of essays and observations so well that it's hard to imagine anyone else doing them. Like FRAUD, Rakoff's first collection of autobiographical essays, this is a pleasant collection of humorous observations and anecdotes. Perhaps the best is the comparison of the final flight of the luxurious Concorde to a flight on Hooters Air. Rakoff's gentle voice conveys how out of place he felt on that flight.
