Boady Sanden is a lawyer with lots of baggage, and it all gets unloaded in this audiobook. What starts with a request to get a new trial for a wrongly convicted murderer and seeming clairvoyant turns into a far more complex story involving Emma, whom he has raised since her father and mother's deaths and never fully come to grips with. Delivered by a team of narrators, with Gary Tiedemann taking the lead, the book moves along quickly, always centering on Sanden and his ever-growing emotional toll. Although the other narrators, Matt Godfrey, Saskia Maarleveld, Janina Edwards, and Timothy Pabon, are all capable, they get lost a bit in the giant shadow cast by the excellent performance of Tiedemann.
