WITCH OF WILD THINGS

Krysta Gonzales narrates a romance between a botanical witch and her former crush. Forced to return to her hometown after losing her job, Sage Flores unwillingly confronts her past. Gonzales expertly navigates the complications Sage experiences as she faces not only her family, but also the man who broke her heart in high school. The three Flores sisters--Sage, Teal, and Sky--were raised by their great aunt, but it was Sage who did the day-to-day "parenting." Gonzales captures the profound resentment the adult Sage feels over losing her childhood, as well as her deep love for her sisters. Sage also grapples with her feelings for a former high school crush, and Gonzales deftly swings between the elation and anxiety of that renewed relationship.
