Patrick G. Lawlor makes listening to THE EZEKIEL OPTION as pleasant as a root canal. Never mind that the book is yet another in a seemingly endless series of apocalyptic books based on obscure passages in the Bible; Lawlor's ham-handed reading (it fails to rise to the level of a performance) is enough to make the work itself a disaster. He never alters his voice from a controlled panic. If you read EVERYTHING like it's in capital letters with an exclamation point, how do you read the exciting parts?
