Johanna Parker clearly enjoys narrating this chick-lit/murder mystery of mummies and mayhem in suburban Connecticut. Transplanted New Yorker Kate is witty and self-deprecating as she finds herself surrounded by pitch-perfect snobby suspects. And while Parker steals directly from Kim Cattrall in her portrayal of Jane, Kate's best friend from New York City, the results are hilarious. In fact, it's almost possible to overlook the fact that Kate begins to sound self-indulgent as she begins to find dissatisfaction in her upper-middle-class life and goes looking for adventure. But the mystery will keep you guessing right up to the end. Only several glaring mispronunciations mar this entertaining, if fluffy, listen.
