A Fox News financial commentator reads a collection of his on-air commentaries. The unifying idea is that life is more important than money. He comments on cultural events and trends we've all heard about--Terri Schiavo, the 9/11 attack, Alan Greenspan--all from the one-dimensional viewpoint that moral values and personal responsibility are important. Though his reading tone is pleasant and he's not overtly sanctimonious, there is a wordy and self-aggrandizing quality to these essays. The author will remind many listeners of small-market AM radio talk show hosts who have a certain verbal flair, but not a lot to add to the public conversation on the issues of the day.
