Multimillionaire Cecil Wyatt's son is dead, and one of his grandsons, William, goes missing just when his long-lost grandson, Mitchell, arrives in Chicago. The police suspect Mitchell, who has a reputation for being ruthless in business, of foul play. Kate Donovan, who is engaged to Cecil's lawyer, meets Mitchell while vacationing in a tropical paradise and, of course, falls in love. Laura Dean portrays the Wyatts with strident tones while gracing Donovan with a soft, lilting voice. While the police are characterized as hard-boiled and the lawyer ruthless, the rest of the narrative is read in a more natural tone clearly and smoothly. Although McNaught's plot is thin, the romance captures the listener's attention. M.B.K. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/ JUL 06]
