MOURNERS

by | Read by Nick Sullivan

Mystery & Suspense • 7 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2006

The newest addition to Bill Pronzini's Nameless Detective series is read by Nick Sullivan, who excels at mysteries and detective stories. Nameless is asked to investigate a wealthy financial planner who attends strangers' funerals and exhibits other unusual behavior. The book is also an intriguing character study, highlighted by Nameless's inability to understand why his wife seems aloof and sullen. Sullivan's performance is terrific. He reads in an almost breathless style that meshes well with the story. Because, as the title suggests, each of the main characters is in some form of mourning, Sullivan provides them with distinct styles and attitudes, thus enriching the underlying story that mysteriously intertwines them.
