Danice Cabanela and Dante Basco narrate the first in the Filipino inspired Stormbringer Saga. Lunurin, voiced by Cabanela, has the power to call forth storms capable of enormous destruction. Cabanela authentically depicts Lunurin's complicated emotions as she hides her powers from those colonizing her people and ignores her goddess's calls. Alon, voiced by Basco, has been in love with Lunurin since childhood. After a devastating discovery, they enter into a marriage of convenience despite Lunurin's feelings for a fellow nun. While the narrators pronounce some words differently, and Cabanela's narration during sex scenes falls flat, both narrators' distinct character voices immerse listeners in the richly imagined story.
