THE LAST HARBINGER

Roger Gregg is a talented American ex-pat living in Ireland. In this five-episode satire, written for Irish radio, a being from another dimension appears on the planet Moloch to save the Mammon-worshipping Molochians from their polluting selves. Ruthless vested interests make him a desperate fugitive. The production boasts superb performances, lush soundscapes, and flawless timing. Actor/writer/producer/composer Gregg writes dialogue that almost sings. Yet the satire is heavy-handed, the humor a bit too sparse, and the invention not quite inventive enough. The law of diminishing returns kicks in well before the last 26-minute episode is over. Y.R. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: APR/ MAY 06]
