Dara Rosenberg returns to narrate another Meltzer contemporary romance, this time featuring a Jewish shop owner in Woodstock, New York, and the man who might be a golem she accidentally summoned. After an anti-Semitic group papers the town with hateful flyers, Faye drowns her fears in wine and performs a ritual for protection. The unexpected appearance of a handsome man with amnesia the next day may mean she was successful. Rosenberg's lively pacing keeps the story moving. With an expressive voice, she captures the characters' personalities, most notably that of Fay's elderly, eccentric friend, Nelly, who is full of opinions and spunk. Those who have enjoyed this narrator-author pairing will be entertained by their latest collaboration. A.L.S.M. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: OCTOBER 2024]
