THE GLASS LAKE

Set in the village of Lough Glass, Ireland, and London, this is a lively tale of ordinary people. Kate Binchy capably sustains us through this long reading. Her narrative techniques reconstruct the romance, sorrow, suspense, diverting plots, and numerous characters with ease. She traces the life of Kit McMahon after a family tragedy, her relations, and friends, with a medley of diverse voices, including an adoring, eccentric hermit.
