LAIR

Popular British author Herbert offers LAIR as part of his horror trilogy, which also includes RATS and DOMAIN. Restless and tormented by their craving for human flesh, huge mutant rats return in full force, this time to Epping Forest, a heavily populated area on the outskirts of London. Gareth Armstrong creates a no-nonsense, tough-as-nails, hero—sort of a British John Wayne—who works for Ratkill, an extermination agency charged with destroying the attacking rats. As the screaming and squealing of numerous animals and people attacked by the rats give the listener goose bumps, Gareth Armstrong ratchets the tension and pitch of his narration into a climactic flurry.
