This sad tale of murder on a college campus recounts a father's search for meaning in the death of his son and every aspect surrounding the event. Lewis's unemotional reading creates a suitable distance between the father's journey and the fateful actions of his son. While the story if full of fastidious details and minute facts agonizingly repeated by the author, Lewis's narration never loses heart or flags in its attention to the unfolding events and discoveries.
