LULUBELLE AND HER BONES

This likable children’s story features Lulubelle, the duchess’s lap dog, who leads a pampered existence. She doesn’t even know she’s a dog until she meets Bones, the cook’s dog, who’s slaving away in the kitchen. Together the two run away to London. Along the way they meet many other adventurers, from robbers to rats to gypsies. Narrator Nicky Talacko gives colorful voice to this fun group of characters. She particularly excels at capturing the class differences, through tone and accents, of the two main characters. By the end of this appealing tale, children and adults alike will cheer for the happy ending of this canine duo. J.C.G.
