Pals Lenny Hargreaves and Jake Allen team up in each of these stories to foil the villains and save the day. Amateur magician Lenny brings ingenuity and imagination to each predicament. His friend Jake is more cautious but, nevertheless, turns out to be quite a convincing actor. In both tales narrator Sandi Toksvig brings an array of characters to life. The unusual quality of her voice enhances the range of her vocalizations. From growling villain to grumpy policeman to ungracious elderly schoolteacher, Toksvig conveys warmth and humor.
