Tempest Mensah narrates this fantasy-romance and supposed comedy featuring mostly Black and demon characters. The last single person in her friend group, Rayna, a 36-year-old career woman, summons a demon lover using a spell she read in a novel. When it actually works, she proceeds to act like a spoiled brat while he protects her from his world. Mensah's outstanding acting is the only thing that makes listening to Rayna's constant whining and cringey potty humor bearable. Mensah creates impressive character voices ranging from gruff and manly to light and feminine, and the handful of chapters from the demon's point of view stand out.
