SAKES ALIVE! IT'S A CATTLE DRIVE

In this newest addition to Wilson’s collection of simple rhyming books, cows Mabel and Molly take Farmer’s keys and head off for an imaginative romp full of puns. Narrator Kevin R. Free maintains the simplicity of the story with his slow pace, clearly enunciated speech, and added emphasis on the rhyme at the end of each line. He even manages to differentiate the characters. The slow, rounded lowing voice of Mabel is so perfect that she practically moos her words. The production is nicely packaged with separate discs (with or without page-turning signals), but listeners will enjoy it even more if they have the book to look at while they listen.
