ULYSSES MOORE The Long-Lost Map

Second in a series, this tale documents the drama of twins Jason and Julia and their friend Rick, whose adventures involve a trip to ancient Egypt. This story is rich in details, clues, mysteries, secret passages, and breathless twists, and Michael Page amplifies all the drama with his energetic reading. Page should be commended for his ability to create and manage multiple characters and accents (British, Irish, and Egyptian) and for his willingness to enthusiastically embrace over-the-top characters like the evil Oblivia Newton, while creating exaggerated Egyptian accents in service of fun and quick character construction. Listeners who love fast-paced adventure will want to strap themselves in for the story; the book's ending suggests more mysteries in the future.
